The show—as seen through the eyes of ZOÉ PIRET, a member of the audience in Namur in May—
With *Guilty*, the Cie des SIX FAUX NEZ presents a visual and musical fable that, beneath its apparent gentleness, profoundly questions our society.
In the play, three characters bring a puppet to life, gradually piecing it together before bringing it to life. Fragile and innocent, the puppet discovers a world beyond its control, guided—or manipulated—by these three figures who often take advantage of its helplessness. Tossed from one ordeal to the next, she falls, gets back up, and then falls again, becoming the puppet of a world that seems to make decisions for her. And yet, despite everything she goes through, we feel immense tenderness toward her.

The actors constantly shift between multiple roles: characters, puppeteers, and musicians. Without words—using only movement, music, and imagery—they create a world that is at once poetic, absurd, and deeply human.
The set design plays a key role in this magic. The stage, featuring trapdoors and hiding spots concealed beneath the floorboards, allows sets and props to appear and disappear continuously, as if the world itself were transforming beneath the characters’ feet.
In my opinion, this play above all prompts us to question our own place in society. Are we puppets controlled by others, or are we the ones pulling the strings? At what point do we choose to act, to follow, or to resist? And ultimately, what can we really change?
Without ever offering a ready-made answer, *Guilty* raises these questions with great sensitivity, allowing each viewer to draw their own conclusions.”
